Do you ever feel like the world is crashing down around you and you just can’t keep up with your day-to-day normal stuff? Like everything is just closing in on you and you feel like you will suffocate under the weight of it all?
Man, have I been there! But there’s hope.
We were never meant to do this life thing on our own strength. God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us and comfort us, but also an arsenal of tools to equip us for the tasks that we have in front of us.
When I have had my fill and feel I can’t go on another minute, I calm myself by praying, “Ok, God. You’ve got this!” Seems simple enough, I know, but it really works to say it out loud and acknowledge that He is in charge. That’s when He does His best work. We can remember that He “…works all things for good to those who love him and are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
The Bible is full of reminders of God’s great love for us. Not only did He provide the gift of eternal salvation through His son, Jesus, but He also provides encouragement, protection and comfort for our everyday journey here on Earth.
Keep these verses close to you and commit them to memory so that you may be encouraged when you go through trials. Here are some that might help:
“Look at the lilies and how they grow. If God cares so wonderfully for flowers, He will certainly care for you.” Luke 12:27-28 (NLT)
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
“Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Which verses do you keep close to your heart for times when you think you just can’t take one more trial?
